Doug Stanhope - Something to Take the Edge Off (marbled vinyl)
The limited vinyl version of Doug Stanhope’s second album covers every hilarious topic from birth defects to suicide, performed live with Henry Phillips providing acoustic guitar accompaniment to help “take the edge off.” While the music offers a smoother pacing than the frenetic “Sicko,” the material doesn’t lose any of the bite for which Stanhope is renowned.
These are the last copies of this landmark album that are available to the public. This version has the original, non-reversed CD cover - these are the ONLY copies with this cover, as the entire run was originally manufactured with the reversed art cover only - a Stand Up! Records exclusive, white art on a black background. The vinyl itself is marbled grey - 100 LPs of this color variation were pressed back in 2015, this is part of a recent warehouse find of the remainder. Our copies packaged exclusively with the black cover. Copies of the original white cover/black vinyl sell on eBay in excess of $200 regularly. As our copies dwindle, the price will almost certainly increase, so don't dawdle.
