Alysia Wood

Alysia Wood is one of the bright new faces to come out of the strong Seattle comedy scene. Her first CD, Princess, was selected among “2012′s Top 10 Stand-up Comedy MP3 albums and CDs” by The Serious Comedy Site and, of course, brought her onto a roster of other standard-bearing comics.
The Louisiana native first caught the attention of the legendary founder of the Improv chain, Budd Friedman, in L.A. He soon bestowed the title “America’s Next Funniest” comedian upon her at Harrah’s Improv in Las Vegas. Among other honors, she has also been chosen as a Hot Comedian by Campus Activities Magazine, and college audiences agree, “Wood can turn almost anything into a joke.”
National Lampoon Comedy Radio on XM calls her “Hysterical!”; she appears on the prestigious, nationally-syndicated show “Bob & Tom“, where her material has been complimented as “well-written… well-structured”; and she is a guest host on 24/7 Comedy Radio stations in the U.S., Canada, and I Heart Radio.
Wood is also a contributing writer for internet columns and frequent guest on many podcasts. As an actress, she has appeared on the Laugh Spin original series Back Porch Wisdom, in the film Dangerous, and alongside former cast members of Reno 911! for two episodes of Niecy Nash’s Yahoo! series Let’s Talk About Love.
“I love it when Alysia comes back to Seattle—she brings a little edge back to the Kingdom of Polite and always manages to have something surprising and very funny to say.” –-SeattleComedy.net
