Marc Maron is a standup comic, author, actor, radio personality, feral cat wrangler and a Jew. His recent accomplishments include accidentally running over a large Possum in his driveway then crying AND figuring out how to upload videos to his Facebook site. His book based on his solo show, The Jerusalem Syndrome: My Life as a Reluctant Messiah, is out of print and overpriced by vendors who think it might have some collectors value. He’s been on HBO, Conan, Letterman, his two Comedy Central Presents Specials and almost every show that allows standups to perform.
He is currently had as off broadway run of a solo show based on his two divorces and anger problem called, ‘Scorching the Earth’. He hosts the podcast WTF with Marc Maron. His three CDs, “Not Sold Out’, ‘Tickets Still Available’ and ‘Final Engagement’ are cult comedy classics and available right here. |

Marc Maron "Final Engagement" CD
Marc Maron knows there’s no sense in pussy-footing around. Life is nasty, brutish, and short, and you might as well get a laugh out of it. Punchline magazine calls it “heartbreaking comedy,” but at Stand Up! Records we prefer to think of Maron as a ridiculously funny and insightful observational comic who’s just not afraid to show his tender underbelly. On his new, 2-CD live album recorded on his “Scorched Earth” tour, Maron owns up to the sad realities of his personal life, admitting that he finds comfort in living with four things that don’t even like him (his beloved cats, including PTSD-ridden LaFonda) and had a little “Good for you!” moment when his second wife left him. At the same time, he happily engages his audience with the shrewd, story-based comedy that’s formed the backbone of his previous records, taking on absurdities like the internet culture that might actually like him better if he just stood on the stage, crying and peeing.
A seasoned performer who’s already had a one-man, Off-Broadway show, made two CDs, and been the most frequent comic guest ever on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Maron knows how to approach an audience, expertly keeping them suspended somewhere between “That was so f*cking funny!” and “I hope he’s okay…” Like a latter-day Woody Allen, Maron embraces his insecurities, but always stops just short of the tortured artist. He doesn’t seek pity, only commiseration, laughter, and an honest acknowledgement of the absolutely ludicrous human condition—oh, and maybe a girl without daddy issues, if it’s not too much to ask. |

Marc Maron "Not Sold Out" CD
Stand
Up! Records is happy to announce the release of former Air America
luminary Marc Maron's latest offering, "Not Sold Out."
For those who have witnessed their own personal progression fromrighteous
indignation, to flat-out rage, to defeatist internal fuming, to
apathy and back again, sixtyminutes with Marc Maron will feel
not only familiar, but eerily like having a drink, a couple of
Prozacs and a boisterous argument with yourself. Maron happily
touches on everything from the fact that drug-pushers and porn-peddlers
are not, I repeat, not here to look out for your well being, to
his own divinely-inspired plan to rid the world of Al Quaeda using
nothing but heroin addicts and a little ingenuity. The really
tricky part is, he'll keep you laughing the whole way through.
If you haven't yet begun to suspect that the most absurd things
in life may be the closest to the truth, Maron will make a staunch
believer out of you. At the very least, you're liable to find
you've developed an uncontrollable urge to clap your hands and
shout, "Again! Again!" when this CD finally winds down. |

Marc Maron "Tickets Still Available" CD
Marc Maron is a mix of an unlikely but outspoken Presidential candidate combined with the homeless dude on your block who is convinced you are Karl Rove’s robot love child and refuses to accept your handouts. His now-sober view of a world ripe with political blunderings and disappointment has landed him frequent guest spots on The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. And now Stand Up! Records brings you his latest evening of comedy, "Tickets Still Available." Maron lends his neurosis to create a self-deprecating festival of laughter and offers his insight into a world of pharmaceuticals, psychic vampires, and shameful masturbation.
Truly gifted in elegantly personifying and finding deep meaning in the world, Marc Maron really just wants to allow himself to carelessly eat his way into obesity. And while Marc Maron is sadly not making a bid for the Presidency, "Tickets Still Available" has the power to infiltrate the fabric of the US of A - supporting the fears of raving mad conspiracy theory ridden street dwellers and shining a light on the depression of normal desk-jobbed civilians alike. |
